A Awards Members of the awards committee plan for the annual awards gala, and advertise for, collect and review nominations for awards and grants. Once they have made their selections, they contact the awards recipients and their district supervisors, inviting them to the event. They advertise for the event, including all membership, families of award recipients and interested supporters of science education. Communications The Communications Committee works to get out messaging consistent with the organization's vision and goals. Members of this committee utilize the CSTA website, e-mail, Twitter and Facebook accounts, and coordinate with County Directors, for face-to-face interactions to share important information with the membership. There is some overlap with the work the Publicity Committee does getting the word out for the Annual CT Science Educators Conference, so members of this committee are encouraged to work on that subcommittee as well. Conference (see subcommittees, responsibilities, and timelines below) Contact Diane Hart if you are interested in working on the Annual Science Educators Conference in any capacity | CSTA Journal & Newsletter Both the CSTA Journal and Newsletter are collected, formatted, edited, and produced by Raymond Delehant, one of our past CSTA presidents (several times). He is the one to contact to submit articles or news about science education in Connecticut: delray637@att.net Membership The membership committee manages membership information, supports members with renewal and often overlaps with the Registration Committee for the Annual CT Science Educators Conference. Please contact Cindy Wilbur to join this committee: wilburc@fpsct.org NGSS Professional Development This team coordinates resources and plans events to help Connecticut's science educators transition to the Next Generation Science Standards. |

Are YOU chairing a subcommittee?
Thank you! Please let your committee chairperson know when you or your committee members plan to purchase anything for your committee and submit the receipt along with the Request for Reimbursement Form (above). He or she will send it along to the treasurer. Remember to keep copies of your receipt and form just in case they get lost!
Are YOU chairing a committee?
Thank you! Please keep your own record of committee income and expenses over time and submit receipts along with the Request for Reimbursement Form (above) to the treasurer in a timely fashion. Remind your committee members not to hand receipts directly to the treasurer. If someone on your committee needs reimbursement, be sure he or she fills out the form and gives that, along with the receipt, to you. Input that information in your records, and check it against the committee's budget. Any questions about which line item an expense belongs to should go to both the president and the treasurer to be clarified. Make copies of both the receipt and the form and send both along to the treasurer. This provides an essential checks and balances system to our organization.
Note: If you need reimbursements on a continual basis, please hold receipts till you have accumulated at least $20.00 worth of expenses.
