Modeling allows students to predict, test, and describe concepts and phenomena. It allows for the manipulation of variables to show relationships within systems of both observable and unobservable occurrences. Students benefit from collaborative learning and gain a deeper understanding of content.
The workshop will look at modeling as both a science and an engineering practice; and demonstrate ways to incorporate aspects of the other seven practices into the lessons. Participants will engage in activities which provide a look at how modeling can be implemented in the classroom from both the teacher and student perspective. Time will be allotted for sharing and collaboration.
Refreshments will be provided
